Day Two

So far we have covered the following;

  • What is a network
  • What is the Internet
  • What is an IP Address
  • What is a URL
  • How does a computer find a IP address from a URL
  • How do you get connected to the Internet

Today, we will cover how data actually moves around. We will look at what the different parts of the URL mean, as well as some of the protocols used are. We will also touch on security from the perspective of what protocols are secure, and what ones are not.

We will also look at some of the file types that may travel across the Internet, and what they are used for. This might help you understand what some of the programs found on your computer are for.
