What is The Internet?

The Internet is a huge network, made up of a collection of smaller computer networks. Every computer that is connected to the Internet is connected to every other computer. This definition is hard to understand without first understanding what a computer network is in the first place.

a basic network

In it's most basic form, a computer network is simply a number of computers tha are connected together so that they can 'talk' to each other. Most of the time, the network exists to allow the sharing of some sort of resource, like files, or a printer.
